In line with the agreement signed by Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan on October 18, 2010, regarding the Common Guidelines and Rules for Technical Specifications of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus, and the Russian Federation, the Customs Union Commission is dedicated to establishing uniform standards and requirements to ensure product safety. This effort culminates in the CU-TR certification of the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union. The unified mark is denoted by the letters EAC.
To facilitate trade among Union countries and mitigate technical regulation barriers for products imported and exported within this customs union, the Customs Union legislation mandates a Customs Union Technical Regulation Certificate. This certificate serves as the sole evidence that a product complies with the Customs Union Technical Regulation.
In 2015, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan formed the Eurasian Economic Union, which has expanded EAC certification to encompass five countries.
